Organizational Structure

To ensure the scientific rigor, standardization, and sustainability of the platform, OAJ has established a comprehensive organizational structure comprising six core teams: project management, expert consultation, journal selection, user services, methodology research, and data management. These teams work collaboratively to advance the evaluation and service provision of open-access academic journals.

Organizing Committee:  Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and strategic deployment of the project, the committee ensures the efficient advancement of platform construction and operation, and guarantees alignment between the platform's development direction and the national open science strategy.

Expert Advisory Committee:  Brings together four core groups—experts in journal publishing, leading scholars in various disciplines, research administrators, and open-access specialists from both China and abroad, the committee provides international perspectives and in-depth disciplinary guidance for platform development through regular academic seminars and policy consultations.

Journal Selection Team:  Responsible for establishing and optimizing the selection criteria for OAJ, this team conducts multiple rounds of evaluation and dynamic assessment of applicant journals across various dimensions, including academic quality, publishing standards, open-access policies, research integrity, and societal impact to ensure the high standards and credibility of the included journals.

User Service Team:  Focusing on user needs, the team provides consultation and training services, organizes academic exchanges, thematic training salons, and other activities to foster in-depth interaction between the platform and the academic community, expand collaboration channels, and promote open science practices.

Methodology Research Team:  The team conducts cutting-edge research in the field of open-access evaluation, explores theoretical and practical innovations in journal evaluation, continuously optimizes the journal evaluation index system to ensure the scientific and forward-looking nature of evaluation methods, and provides theoretical support for platform development.

Data Management Team:  The team is responsible for collecting, cleaning, and analyzing journal evaluation data, building and maintaining the stable operation and functional iteration of the platform system, thereby providing reliable data and technical support for the selection process.
